The mouth is round and shows a character of ripe concentrated red fruits. Tannins are present (but soft) to give just enough body for this wine to be a nice match for red meat dishes." Here's a little blurb about our 2007 Ice Wine. Here's to a 2008's!
PASCO, WA The German Government's Ministry of Economics, Transportation, Agriculture and Viticulture recently launched an initiative to reintroduce the world to Premium white wine. A key component of their program was the "2000 Best of Riesling", an International competition designed to call attention to Riesling as a Premium grape variety. More than 1700 wines from ten countries and four continents competed with the top 25 in each category identified. In the category of Trockenbeerenauslese and Iesweins, botrytis affected and/or lusciously sweet, Riesling wines, CLAAR CELLARS’ 1997 Botrytisized Riesling Ice Wine was one of the top 25 of 314 worldwide entries. Claar Cellars' Ice Wine was the only wine in the top 25 not of German or Austrian origin.

We are proud to announce that we have just finished the harvest of our 2008 Ice Wine.
This is the first ice wine wine we have had since 1996, and we are very excited about it. Watch here for more news!
Child's Play Charity
Claar Cellars is proud to announce that for the second year we have been given the opportunity to sponsor the wine at the Child's Play Charity dinner and auction December 9th in Seattle Wasington.
From their website:
"Q: What is Child’s Play?
A: Child’s Play is a Seattle based, gamer-run organization that holds an annual toy drive for childrens’ hospitals. Many of the gifts donated by gamers are, as you might imagine, age appropriate videogames and gaming systems - but they are by no means the only things donated. We received eager donations of coloring books, art supplies, crafts, movies, cartoons, virtually anything a young person could ask for. We asked the world-wide community of gamers, and they gave so much we had to move to larger storage facilities three separate times.
Our 2006 event raised over one million dollars in toys and cash for 40 children’s hospitals around the US and the world, putting the community’s total contribution level since our inception at the two million dollar mark. This year, we’ve expanded Child’s Play again, including more partners in the US and internationally."
